Luxury touches bring new style to bathrooms

Bathrooms are moving from functional to fancy, from plain to palatial.
If you let them.

“They are something that everybody wants,” says Mark Morrison, owner of Morrison Kitchen & Bath in Baldwin. “But people get disenchanted, and a lot of times it’s like that bar in the basement that now has laundry sitting on it.”

The big difference, obviously, is a practicality that gives bathrooms a touch of everyday reality. But some bathroom projects cost more than $50,000, which can include 12-head showers, radiant floors that provide a warmth to bare feet and cabinetry that is custom designed to fit all the structural needs of the room.
