I love my new apartment, but I’m beginning to hate my shower. As showers go it’s pretty good: it’s clean, roomy, and the water pressure is decent. But achieving proper water temperature has become a trial. For a while I was hitting it just right, not too scalding and not too cool. But lately I can’t for the life of me get it right and that’s where the trouble starts.
You see, in my shower if you turn on the hot and cold and discover that the water is actually too hot, the natural inclination is to turn the hot down a bit and turn the cold up a bit. Which is what I do. So of course that makes the water in the shower EVEN HOTTER. Conversely, if the water is too cold and I turn the hot water knob higher, the water then becomes icy cold. Makes sense right? If your shower was designed on Bizarro world.
What often ends up happening is that I get in the shower and discover that the water is hot enough to peel my skin off…
